solution home » services » solution SAVE and E-Verify AffidavitsThe Georgia General Assembly passed legislation requiring Georgia's cities to obtain affidavits to comply with the federal work authorization program(s) – E-Verify and Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE). E-Verify is a federal program operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to verify employment eligibility information of employees. The employer is counted as an employee of the business (employee #1). SAVE is a federal program for verification of the immigration status or citizenship of a business license applicant and if the applicant is legally entitled to certain “public benefits” in the United States. Notarized SAVE and E-Verify affidavits must be submitted when applying for a new business tax certificate/license. Links to blank business tax forms are located at the bottom of the City of Atlanta Office of Revenue web page (click link below). Submission of the affidavits may be done in person, or by mail, when applying for or renewing a business license.
