solution home » services » solution Snow and Ice Level of Readiness and Response Based on Forecasted WeatherThere are four (4) levels of response based on the expected conditions.Level I- Temperature below freezing, but no precipitation-DPW staff and equipment (responding primarily to waterline breaks) (3 parts abrasive and 1 part salt)Level II- Temperature between 32-25 degrees and light precipitation (less than 1 inch) - a. Priority I and II bridges with Priority I roads as needed-DPW staff and equipment (3 parts abrasive and 1 part salt). For Level II conditions that are forecast to last longer than 72 hours, a Level III response may be implemented. Level III- Temperatures between 25 and 20 degrees and a medium precipitation (1 to 2 inches) - b. Priority I&II Bridges and Priority I roads with Priority II as needed- DPW and Watershed staff and equipment (3 part abrasive and 1 parts salt). Assistance from Parks to address any issues with trees and limbs. For Level III conditions that are forecast to last longer than 72 hours, a Level IV response may be implemented.Level IV- Temperatures below 20 degrees and heavy precipitation (2 inches or greater) - c. Priority I & II Roads and Bridges with Priority II Bridges and Roads as resources allow- DPW, Watershed, and Parks staff and equipment (2 part abrasive and 1 part salt).
