On April 10, 2017, Mayor Kasim Reed issued an executive order temporarily suspending non-emergency construction activity while the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) makes repairs to the impacted sections of Interstate 85. The executive order suspends work between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, throughout the Impact Mitigation Corridor, which extends from downtown Atlanta to the northern city limits, east to Moreland Avenue and west to US-41/Northside Drive. The executive order goes on to allow that exceptions may be considered and granted on a case-by-case basis by the Department of Public Works.
