The City of Atlanta Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Keep Atlanta Beautiful Commission are seeking volunteers to lend a hand in keeping public spaces clean.
All portions of the City’s public right-of-way are eligible for adoption including streets, traffic islands, medians, City-owned lots, and MARTA stops (if available).
Volunteers Need to Know:
Volunteers are required to maintain the adopted space for up to one year and will have to verify the adopted space and their contact information yearly.
Adopted spaces may be renewed upon request.
DPW reserves the right to approve or disapprove a location.
Notification to DPW required if adoption commitment cannot be maintained. (The spot will become eligible for someone else to adopt.)
Areas are checked regularly by DPW staff.
Notification will be provided if problems develop in the adopted area.
All program requirements are strictly enforced.
Volunteers that wish to adopt a spot must submit a completed application and liability waiver, which are available on the Adopt a Spot Program weblink below, using either of the following channels:

Adopt-a-Spot volunteers will receive:
A sign installed to identify their adopted location
Certificate of Appreciation
Litter grabbers
Garbage bags
Safety vests
Work gloves
Sign installation will occur after all completed documents are received and approved. Allow up to eight (8) weeks for sign installation.
