The City of Atlanta Police Department (APD) License and Permit Unit regulates adult entertainment to ensure applicants fulfill the age requirement and have not had any prior convictions, in addition to other aspects of the Atlanta Municipal Code.

Everyone who is working inside the adult entertainment establishment is required to obtain an adult entertainment permit, including:

• Owners
• Bartenders
• Deejays
• Dishwashers
• House Mothers
• Kitchen Staff
• Security
• Any other employees who work for the adult entertainment establishment

The permit allows an individual to work at an adult entertainment establishment and it is issued per employee and per establishment. A separate permit is required to work at an additional adult entertainment establishment.

Applicants with an open felony case pending court disposition may apply for an adult entertainment permit; however, court documentation showing the case is still pending is required.
