The application for a food truck public vending permit must be submitted online via ATLBIZ, the city's tax and permitting portal. An approved food truck vending permit allows trucks to operate from designated food truck locations within the city.
All permit requirements must be completed within 30 calendar days from the date the original application is submitted.
Submission of the following completed documents and fees is required:
- Food Truck Vendor Permit Application, including a full business description
- Copy of a secure and verifiable document as listed in the Georgia Department of Revenue code O.C.G. § 50-36-2 (e.g unexpired driver’s license, passport, etc.). Visit the Georgia code for a complete list of acceptable documentation.
- Valid Georgia Department of Revenue sales tax ID number
- Valid mobile food permit through the Fulton or DeKalb County Board of Health
- 360-degree view of the truck
After your application is reviewed for completion, the following fees will be due and payable via ATLBIZ by Visa, MC, Amex, Discover, or eCheck.
- A non-refundable fee of $145 is applicable ($75 permit, $50 background check, $20 fingerprinting).
- A $350 annual electronic reservation fee
You must also have a valid business occupation tax certificate (issued by the City of Atlanta or a jurisdiction within the State of Georgia).
If payment must be made in person, acceptable forms of payment are cash, money order, certified bank check, any major credit card (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover). No personal or business checks will be accepted.
Following the payment of these fees you must complete the background check and fingerprinting by the Atlanta Police Department, License and Permits Unit.

Per City ordinance, disabled veterans and blind persons are exempt from paying application fees.
