The purpose of the Citizen's Police Academy is to educate the citizens of Atlanta about the operations of their police department while obtaining valuable feedback to enhance police and community relations. The curriculum may include tours of the 911 center, zone ride-alongs, disciplinary process, criminal procedure, crime scene investigation and use of force.

 

The Citizen's Police Academy is an eight-week program in with cohorts in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.  There is a graduation ceremony at the end of the program.

 

The Academy will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, April 29 – June 17, 2025.

The deadline to submit applications is April 14, 2025.  

 

Registration requirements:
 

  • Must be 21 Years old or Older
  • Must be a Resident or work in the Atlanta City Limits
  • No felony Convictions
  • No misdemeanor convictions within one year of application submission
  • Must be available to attend ALL 8 classes.
