The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) allows City of Atlanta residents to divert thousands of pounds of household hazardous waste and other hard to recycle items from area landfills. CHaRM experts dispose of the items in a more environmentally friendly way. CHaRM also accepts sorted items for residents who do not have access to single-stream recycling.   
 
City residents may drop off items at CHaRM by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

There are two CHaRM locations:
 

CHaRM Atlanta

Drop-off appointments available: Tuesday and Thursday, 9am – 2pm / Saturday, 8am – 2pm

CHaRM Dekalb
1225 Columbia Drive
Decatur, GA 30032
Drop-off appointments available: Wednesday, 9am – 2pm / Saturday, 8am – 2pm

Prepare for Your Visit 
 

• Review the List of Accepted Items, including processing fees (if applicable), to ensure CHaRM accepts them.
• Book an online appointment.
  • Make sure that recyclable items are clean and dry.
  • Sort and separate all items.
• NO cash accepted − Venmo, credit card, debit card and Apple Pay accepted.
• When you arrive at CHaRM be prepared to show your appointment QR code. 
   

Once you complete the online appointment request, you will receive a confirmation email from the CHaRM facility.
