A residential or commercial building that has extensive structural damage is in violation of the Atlanta Housing Code. The section of Code Enforcement with the Atlanta Police Department will need to inspect the property. An inspection is conducted once a complaint is entered for the property address. If the inspection results show that the property is in violation, then the owner will be notified.

Exterior structural damage includes a damaged roof, holes in exterior walls, damaged stairs, porches, carports, garages, and exterior doors.
