The City of Atlanta Solid Waste Services (SWS) may replace damaged recycling carts.

If your recycling cart is damaged, the following methods can be used to request a repair or replacement:

• Contact ATL311 at 404-546-0311.

• Submit an online request below. 

Damaged Cart Repair or Replacement Process:
 

• DPW will inspect your damaged recycling cart. To ensure service, place the cart upside down at the right-of-way (curbside), as the City of Atlanta does not access private property.

• Based on the inspection:

  • Carts with a cracked body, broken lid, or broken handle will be replaced.

  • Carts with a broken wheel will be repaired.

• If the cart qualifies for replacement, DPW will remove the damaged cart. 

If you purchased an additional cart, you are responsible for the replacement of that cart.  DPW will not provide a replacement for a damaged or missing cart if one is visible on the property.

While awaiting cart delivery, recycling items cannot be set out for collection.
