The City of Atlanta issues Certificates of Domestic Partnership to same-gender and opposite-gender couples who meet the criteria stated in Atlanta’s Code of Ordinances (link below). Requests for certificates are handled by the Office of the City Clerk (OMC) by appointment ONLY. Visit the OMC website for requirements and fee information (link below). 

To verify that you are within the purview of the City of Atlanta's consideration of certification, please email the responses below to the Office of the Municipal Clerk at cacoleman@atlantaga.gov within five (5) business days of receiving the information.

1. Provide your physical address.
2. Provide you and your partner’s full legal name and both email addresses, as both parties are required to be included on all domestic partnership correspondence.
3. Please indicate if you or your partner are a City of Atlanta Government Employee.

Notification of this inquiry will be emailed to you and indicate the closure of your case with ATL311.  Once you email the information above to cacoleman@atlantaga.gov, a notification will be sent to you confirming receipt.  Within two (2) business days, you will be provided with an update indicating if you are eligible to move forward with the next steps for qualification.
