The Greenhouse Division of The Department of Parks and Recreation maintains over 60 flower and planting beds throughout the City including recreation centers, public art installations and at City Hall.

Flower beds are maintained on a 10-day maintenance schedule, although depending on weather and other conditions, beds may require watering on a more frequent schedule.

Flower beds are planted twice annually by May 1st and November 1st of each year.

After the spring and fall plantings are complete for the division, the Greenhouse Division allows "Friends of the Park" organizations to pick up flowers from the greenhouse for planting in the park. The Friends group is then responsible for maintenance including watering the flowers at these approved locations.
