Failure To Appear (FTA) on your designated court date may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest and suspension of your driver’s license.
If you are in FTA status, you must appear at the Court in person to request the resolution of your case and receive additional instructions. Report to the Help Desk located in the lobby of the Municipal Court building at 150 Garnett St SW, Atlanta, GA 30303, Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If your driver's license has been suspended:
If you failed to appear for the FIRST TIME, you are eligible to complete a Failure to Appear Request for Reset form at the Court to receive a 912 Release. The 912 releases the suspension on your driver’s license. As required by law, your license will be reinstated once the request is made.
After the Request to Reset form is submitted, a Notice to Appear will be mailed to the address listed on your citation with your new court date and time. You may also access the Find My Case tool to view the date online.
Your case will not be resolved on the same day the Request to Reset form is submitted.
If this is a second or subsequent FTA on the same case, license reinstatement is at the discretion of the Judge.
The Department of Driver Services will receive notice of judicial approval of the driver’s license suspension release and/or case resolution at the close of business. This will automatically go over to DDS. For information concerning the status of your State of Georgia issued driver's license, please contact DDS at (678) 413-8400 or visit the Georgia Department of Driver Services website.
