Illegal Dumping Investigation Request

The City of Atlanta Solid Waste Education and Enforcement Team (SWEET) will investigate your request within five (5) business days. Upon confirmation of illegal dumping, SWEET will submit a request to DPW Special Operations for removal and resolution.

It is illegal to dump or allow others to dump the following items on public or private property: 

  • Construction/Building Materials
  • Scrap Tires
  • Household trash and oversized yard trimmings

 

To submit an illegal dumping clean-up request:

  • Submit an online request below 

 

 

If you see an act of illegal dumping, you can do something to help!

 

Write down or record the following and report it to the Department of Public Works by using the information above:

  • The exact location where the dumping occurred
  • The date and time the dumping was witnessed
  • Picture/video or written note of the license plate number of the vehicle
  • Picture/video or a description of the vehicle and person(s) involved
  • Photos of the dumped material(s)

 

If the issue is on private property, APD-Code Enforcement will investigate. Submit a request for Code Enforcement - Junk, Trash, and Debris-PRIVATE PROPERTY ONLY.
