The City of Atlanta collects illegally dumped items from the City's right-of-way and from the City's known dump sites.

Illegal dumping clean-up schedule

  • NW and SE serviced in May, July, Sept, Nov, Jan, March

  • NE and SW serviced in June, Aug, Oct, Dec, Feb, April

 

It is illegal to dump or allow others to dump the following items on public or private property: 

  • Construction/Building Materials

  • Scrap Tires 

  • Household trash and oversized yard trimmings

 

If you see an act of illegal dumping, you can do something to help!

 

Write down or record the following and report it to the Department of Public Works:

  • The exact location where the dumping occurred

  • The date and time the dumping was witnessed

  • Picture/video or written note of the license plate number of the vehicle

  • Picture/video or a description of the vehicle and person(s) involved

  • Photos of the dumped material(s)

If the information you provide leads to a conviction, you may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.

If the issue is on private property, APD-Code Enforcement will investigate. Submit a request for Code Enforcement - Junk, Trash, and Debris-PRIVATE PROPERTY ONLY.
