Customers seeking financial assistance with their water and sewer account should contact Care and Conserve at 404-546-3620 between 8:15 AM and 5 PM, Monday - Friday. Eligible customers can apply for bill payment assistance and qualify for up to $1,000.00 if approved. Customers who reside inside the city limits may obtain assistance with both the water and sewer portion of their bill. However, customers who reside outside the city limits may obtain assistance with only the water portion of their bill. Water bills must be at least $300.00 in arrears to qualify for assistance.

 

Customers may request an application from a Care & Conserve representative by phone or apply online. Applications are also available for download via the Care and Conserve website (link below). Completed applications may be emailed to careconserve@atlantaga.gov or faxed to 404-979-7462. After an application is received, a Care & Conserve representative will contact the customer and request supporting documents to verify the information indicated on the application about the household.

 

Once the requested supporting documentation is provided, the Care & Conserve team will review the customer account and consumption to determine eligibility for assistance. If necessary, a DWM inspector will be sent out to check the meter or investigate for indications of a property leak. Property leaks must be repaired before moving forward for assistance. After repairs are made, the account usage should reflect that the repairs remedied the leak. Customers must submit adjustment requests and plumber’s statements with the repair invoice attached to the Care & Conserve office for a possible bill adjustment. After the adjustment request is processed for a decision, bill assistance will be applied, if qualified.

 

Note: Customers must maintain a consistent payment pattern on the account to ensure that the account is in good standing and to avoid disconnection of service.
