To obtain a commercial construction permit, stamped and sealed architectural and site plans must be submitted to the Department of City Planning, Office of Buildings. Additional documentation is required based on the type of permit needed. Checklists, detailing requirements for obtaining specific commercial permits, and links to forms are available on the Office of Buildings website (link below).
NOTE: To obtain a commercial permit for construction at the airport, prior approval from the Department of Aviation is required before submission of plans to the Office of Buildings.
The minimum cost for a permit is $150, plus a $25 technology fee. The permit fee schedule for the City of Atlanta can be found in the Code of Ordinances (link below).
