The Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is the oldest and largest peer support provider in Georgia and operates the Peer2Peer Warm Line 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Calls to the toll-free number are completely confidential. The peer who answers the phone will ask for identifying information, but callers are able to provide whatever information they are most comfortable providing.

Some people call the Peer2Peer Warm Line every day to check in, stay connected, and avoid loneliness and isolation. Others call when they are experiencing distress, or at certain times of the year. Some call for emotional support in managing life challenges such as unemployment, loss, and anxiety.

Not every mental health or substance use challenge requires hospitalization or ongoing clinical support. In fact, most do not. There are a number of organizations throughout Metro Atlanta that provide no-cost peer-based recovery and wellness support services.

Peer support services are provided by Certified Peer Specialists, people in mental health and/or substance use recovery who have received special training and are certified by the State of Georgia to use their lived experience of recovery to support others. They are trained to listen, to meet people where they are in their recovery and wellness journey, and to provide emotional support. They also provide information about other community resources for recovery and wellness.

The Peer2Peer Warm Line is not a crisis line. People who are experiencing or reporting a crisis situation should contact the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225.

Because calls to the Peer2Peer Warm Line typically last 20 minutes, and there is a limited number of Certified Peer Specialists able to answer calls, callers may be asked to leave a message with a number where their call may be returned. Calls are returned in the order they are received, so please leave a message if asked to do so, and the call will be returned within two hours, but usually much sooner. If you leave a message, please indicate if there are times when you would like your call returned.

The Peer2Peer Warm Line number is 1-888-945-1414. For more information click the link below.
