The City of Atlanta Department of Public Works (DPW) services approximately 2,000 citywide public right-of-way waste receptacles. These include both commercial and residential areas. Individuals, businesses and organizations are permitted to procure waste receptacles at their expense to assist with litter prevention in the right-of-way. The public space waste receptacles installation process is as follows:
A review of the requested location will be completed.
If approved, the location will be marked for installation.
After installation is completed, the location address is confirmed and added to a service route for abatement.
NOTE: You have the option to either purchase the receptacle(s) through an approved vendor or receive the receptacle(s) from DPW. The installation occurs based on the availability of Atlanta Department of Transportation/Marta/Private Installer. To request the installation of a public space waste receptacle:
