To report persistent discolored water and or an unpleasant change in water taste, odor, or smell that does not go away, contact Customer Service at 404-546-0311, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
A Water Quality Technician, from the Department of Watershed Management, will follow up with the customer within 24 hours and an inspection will be completed within 36 hours.
Apartment dwellers who are experiencing discolored or odorous water should report the issue to their leasing office directly, as the leasing office is required to submit a request on the tenants’ behalf.
NOTE: The Fire Department services hydrants during spring and fall (April, September, October) to ensure they are working properly throughout the Atlanta area. This may cause discoloration within homes and businesses. Should you notice discolored water, please complete both internal and external flushing by running faucets (cold water only) for at least 5 minutes. If the discoloration persists, please contact 311 for service completion.
