The Fulton County Tax Commissioner is responsible for the collection of Solid Waste Service fees on behalf of the City of Atlanta.
The annual bill provides a description of the property, defined service period, and bill summary. Questions regarding how residential and commercial solid waste bills are calculated may be answered by reviewing the Solid Waste Charges and Billing FAQs. As of July 1, 2024, rate adjustments went into effect for the following solid waste services: garbage/recycling collection, bulk collection, and residential backyard removal service. For specific questions regarding your City of Atlanta Solid Waste Bill, please contact the Department of Public Works at DPWCustomerService@atlantaga.gov or call 404-546-1796. If sending an email inquiry, please allow seven (7) business days for a reply.
If your inquiry results in the need to investigate your account, you are still required to pay your bill. A refund and/or adjusted bill will be provided after the inquiry is resolved.
Solid Waste Dispute Process:
You may submit a dispute no less than seven (7) days prior to the due date of the disputed solid waste bill. Disputes must be submitted by completing the attached form: DPW Solid Waste Dispute Form. You may download the Dispute Form, complete it, and email it to DPWCustomerService@atlantaga.gov with the subject line: Solid Waste Bill Dispute. Additional submission instructions are included on the form.
