The Department of City Planning (DCP) offers a range of online and virtual solutions for all your application and permitting needs. As of early 2020, all OZD services shifted to digital platforms. Special Administrative Permit (SAP) approval is required for sites in districts zoned as:
• Special Public Interest (SPI)
• BeltLine Overlay
• Neighborhood Commercial (NC)
• Multi-family Residential (MR)
• Mixed Residential and Commercial (MRC)
• Live-Work (LW)
Activities requiring SAP approval include:
• All exterior demolition
• New construction
• Building additions
• New or expanded outdoor dining
• Construction which increases lot coverage, or modifies the building footprint, or the configuration of openings on street facing building facades.

NOTE: By code, Special Administrative Permit initial review should occur within 30 days of a completed application submission. However, the size and nature of the project may extend the period of review time.
