Every owner of any vacant residential building or dwelling (as defined by the ordinance) must file a vacant registration  with the Code Enforcement Section within thirty (30) days after the building or dwelling becomes vacant; or within ninety (90) days after acquiring ownership (whichever is later). Residential rental and seasonally vacant properties are exempt from registration. Registration fee is $100.00. Only one registration statement need be filed per parcel of land but the fee is $100.00 per vacant building.  Condominiums are exempt from registration. 

When registering, you must provide an agent and/or owner that are located within the state of Georgia. Registration can be made online, in person, or mailed to the Atlanta Police Department Code Enforcement Section. If you are submitting the application via mail you will need to first download the form below and include a check or money order for $100. Customers can come into the Code Enforcement Office which is located at 818 Pollard Boulevard, SW, 3rd Floor, Atlanta, Georgia 30315.  This process takes 14 days.

The registration of a Vacant Property is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of registration.  The renewal fee is $100.00 per parcel. When you renew a registration you keep the same registration number as the previous year.
