The Department of Public Works no longer provides yard trimming stickers; however, customers can create and place yard trimming labels on their containers.
Bags and containers must not exceed 38 lbs. in weight for curbside collection.
Yard trimmings means plant debris commonly thrown away in the course of maintaining yards and gardens, including:
- Leaves
- Grass clippings
- Branches – six (6) inches or less in diameter and four (4) feet or less in length
- Brush
- Flowers
- Roots
- Wood waste
- Sod
- Biodegradable or compostable waste approved for the yard trimmings program
It EXCLUDES the following items:
- Loose soils
- Food waste
- Plastics and synthetic fibers
- Lumber
- Wood or tree limbs over six (6) inches in diameter or four (4) feet in length
- Human or animal excrement
- Soil contaminated with hazardous materials
- All matter resulting from landscaping development and maintenance by a professional contractor
