A traffic calming study can be completed to determine whether installation of speed tables or other calming measures could be recommended. To request an inspection to receive new speed tables or additional speed tables, you may:
NOTE: If submitting online, please provide the street address in the "Request Location – Address" field. Provide the street name and extents for the proposed speed tables(s) in the "Additional Information – What is the Location?" field. A representative from the Atlanta Department of Transportation will review the request and contact you directly. NOTE: A mailing address must be included when submitting a request for speed tables. If approved, once signed by the Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT), a petition package will be mailed to the customer. The customer must obtain signatures of over 50% of affected residents in favor of speed tables and return the petition to ATLDOT for the location to be put on the list for construction. The petition package will include full instructions. Alternatively, instead of petition signatures the customer may reach out to the relevant Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) or Neighborhood Association (NA) for their review and consideration. ATLDOT would accept a written statement from the NPU or NA in support of the proposed traffic calming in order for it to be placed on the list for construction.
