Effective February 16, 2026, bulk collections will be scheduled on your regular weekly collection day. Bulk collections still must be scheduled.

Please place garbage/recycling carts and yard trimmings (on yard trimming collection weeks) at least six (6) feet away from bulk items at curbside. Carts, yard trimmings and bulk placed too close together may result in one or both being delayed.

If today is your scheduled pick-up day for bulk collection, please allow until after 3:30 PM for collection to be completed.

If it is after 3:30 PM and your bulk items were not collected, you may contact ATL311 at 404-546-0311 to create a request.

A Solid Waste Education and Enforcement (SWEET) Officer will investigate your request to determine the reason your bulk was not collected, which may have been due to one of the following:

  • Low hanging electrical wires at street above bulk pile
  • Pile improperly set out
  • Mixed bulk pile (trash mixed with furniture etc.)
  • Extra-large pile
  • Bulk pile obstructed (by vehicle, leaning on mailbox or pole)

NOTE: Bulk collections are prohibited at vacant properties. The City does not collect items left from an eviction or by a contractor, auto parts (including tires) or building/construction materials.

If your scheduled bulk collection is missed and not reported as missed within two (2) business days, it must be rescheduled.
