MARTA HOPE (Homeless Outreach and Proactive Engagement) helps people experiencing homelessness who have taken refuge in the transit system. MARTA HOPE teams are made up of experienced case managers who directly engage people at rail stations, bus stops, parking lots, and other MARTA property. Those who voluntarily accept help are then connected to supportive services that fit their needs. These services include shelter, clothing, drug and alcohol counseling, mental health treatment, supplemental benefit programs, job opportunities, and bringing families back together.

Contact the MARTA HOPE team at (404) 848-5309 or (404) 848-6300, 6am – 10pm, if you require assistance or to report a person experiencing homelessness on MARTA property who requires assistance.

If you are experiencing an emergency while on MARTA, you can:

  • Contact the MARTA Police Department at 404 848-4911
  • Alert a nearby MARTA employee
  • Pick up a blue or white phone at the rail station
  • Text 1-877-371-8477
  • Use MARTA’s free safety app, MARTA See & Say 2.0, which allows you to report safety/security concerns discreetly and directly to MARTA Police. Visit the App Store or the Google Play Store to download the app.
