The Department of Public Works (DPW) contacts citizens who currently receive backyard garbage and recycling services to be recertified.

To be recertified for backyard services, you must submit the following:

  • complete the New/Renew/Cancel Backyard Service Request Form,
  • a photo ID, and
  • a licensed physician’s certified statement stating you are still physically incapable of placing the garbage and recycling at the curb.

The deadline for submission of the documents is June 1, 2026. RE-CERTIFICATION FOR BACKYARD SERVICE IS REQUIRED ANNUALLY.

An incomplete form, missing documents, and failure to recertify by the deadline will cause service delays and/or removal from backyard service.

Completed documents can be submitted to DPW through either of the channels outlined below.
