Make a game plan for your commute during FIFA World Cup 26™.

Tips Before Your Commute Begins:

  • Plan your commute (and errands) to avoid the crowd – Commute earlier or later match days to avoid when fans are arriving, or leaving, especially near the stadium on match days and Fan Fest days.
  • Expect surprises – Teams will be traveling from Buckhead to Downtown and back, and to training facilities. World leaders and other VIPs will be traveling around the region, and police escorts are more likely to complicate regional commutes than stadium crowds. You may experience sudden traffic delays or stoppages so plan to avoid the most likely times for those days (see graphic below).
  • Leave the car at home – Headed to the FIFA Fan Festival™, a match, a viewing party, or to work? Let MARTA drive you or enjoy a bike or scooter trip. Parking will also be at a premium, but it’s easy to park a bike or hop off the train and enjoy the festivities.

How Can I Get Around During FIFA World Cup 26™?

Let MARTA Drive:

  • Trains will arrive every five (5) minutes from start of service to 10:30 p.m. on match days; bus schedules will remain the same. If your workplace is Downtown, Midtown, or Buckhead, find a MARTA Park and Ride lot on your way to work and take the train from there on match days.
  • New Fare System (Better Breeze) – Tap to pay with a credit card or your mobile wallet.
  • MARTA will have ambassadors throughout the system who can assist people.

Rideshare (Uber/Lyft):

  • Special pick up/drop off zones downtown have been established. To accommodate larger numbers of people on foot, Uber and Lyft will pick up and drop off about a half mile from the stadium. Pickup and drop offs are prohibited directly at GWCC, Fan Fest, or Atlanta Stadium (Mercedes-Benz).

Atlanta Stadium Area Closures:

The following areas will be closed once the Atlanta Stadium secure perimeter is installed and will remain for the duration of the FIFA World Cup Tournament:
