Beginning this month, Watershed Management will host a workshop series to teach the benefits of using rain barrels for water conservation and storm water management. Rain barrels provide an additional source of water for shrubs and plants and help to prevent erosion from storm water runoff. Each workshop will also include information on how to build rain gardens.
The workshops will be conducted on the following dates: June 24, July 22, August 19 and September 23. Each workshop will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Water Works Lodge, located at 655 Green Street NW. The workshop fee is $40 (includes rain barrel and installation kit) which can be paid on site by cash, check or money order. To register for a workshop, contact Danita Ogandaga at firstname.lastname@example.org or 404-546-3217.
