The Use of Force Advisory Council was launched on June 10, 2020 by Mayor Bottoms with the goal of evaluating Atlanta Police Departments’ Use of Force procedures and developing recommendations on areas for improvement. The Mayor has directed the group to develop two outputs: 1)14-day report on initial findings and 2) a more comprehensive 45-day report.
The City of Atlanta wants to hear feedback from the community on the focus areas and preliminary recommendations developed by the Mayor’s Use of Force Advisory Council. This survey is being conducted on behalf of the Use of Force Advisory Council, created by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, to collect input from the community on the efforts led thus far on use of force by the Atlanta Police Department (APD). The Advisory Council is comprised of Atlantans who are passionate and have, expertise and, experience regarding criminal justice reform and policing.
