Within the City of Atlanta an un-occupied house can be boarded for a maximum of six months at a time. Once the property has exceeded the six month period for boarding then the boards must be taken down and the property re-boarded for another six months. As long as the property remains vacant then this applies. If the boards have not been removed from the property in a timely manner, then Code Enforcement should be notified and a proper inspection should be done on the property.Code enforcementMaintenance of vacant houseCode Enforcement WebsiteThis Article was created on: 02/23/2014This Article was last updated on: 11/13/2020You can tell us about your request here on the internet OR by calling the Customer Service Center at 311, or 404-546-0311.
